About Me

My name is Asaf Karagila. If look for my blog, click here.

I am a Ph.D. student in the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel. My advisor is Menachem Magidor.

My B.Sc. and M.Sc. are from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Beer Sheva, Israel; you can find my masters thesis in the Papers section, my advisor was Uri Abraham.

My main goal is to develop new tools for constructing models of $\ZF$, and with them to solve some problems related to the axiom of choice. Things are still open, and I’m still working on my research proposal. Hopefully it won’t be long before I can post its summary on this blog. Generally I am interested in “all things choice”, and if you have any ideas for choice-related work and you’re looking for a possible collaborator, do not hesitate to send me an email to the address below.

I am also an avid MathOverflow.net and Math.StackExchange.com user.

To reach me you can leave a comment on my blog, or send me an email at

I don't have much choice.
